Vegetarian Spring Rolls

It is a tradition that when one orders from a Chinese restaurant that one must have an egg roll or spring roll of some kind. Personally my favorite is egg rolls but this project is about exploring new foods and I've had my fair share of them. This was my first attempt at making a fried roll so I was eager to begin cooking.
Assembled Ingredients
I started by assembling my ingredients on a cutting board.

filling part 1
There were three parts to the filling. The first step is to mix chinese garlic chives, black mushrooms, cabbage, and carrots all stir fried together.
filling part 2
After the first part of the filling was together I added what is called the spring roll seasoning. The seasoning consists soy sauce, water, cornstarch, and sesame oil.

filling part 3
I added bean sprouts, salt, and rice wine to the mixture and laid it out to cool.

folding step 1
The first step is to lay a spring roll wrapper  diagonal and to place adhesive on each corner.
step 2
After that fold the bottom corner just bellow the top corner.

The finished roll.

Deep fry in hot oil.

The finished rolls.

We didn't like these as much as the fried wontons and the spring roll wrappers have a different texture than the wonton wrappers.  Watch for more rolls as I begin to try Vietnamese food!
